When Barack Obama was born, his parents were still students at the East–West Center of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His father, Barack Sr., was the first-ever student from an African country and entered the University of Hawaii.

And his mother later died of ovarian cancer in 1995.In 1995, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance was published by Times Books. In 2000, Obama made his first bid for U.S. Congress.In 2005, Barack Obama was named as one of "100 most influential people in the world" and also in 2007 Barack Obama was chosen as one of "10 people would change the world" by New Statesman magazine. Barack Obama became the fifth African American senator in U.S. history and was also one of the youngest senator. In 2006, Barack Obama won a Grammy for Best Spoken Word for the CD version of his autobiography "Dreams From My Father”.

In 2008, Barack Obama won his second Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for "The Audacity of Hope". Barack Obama got elected to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat in 2004.He represented Illinois gaining nation wide attention, giving rouse and well-received keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. In the year 2008, He contested for President as a Democrat and won.Barack Obama became the 27th lawyer to be elected American President and the first African - American President Elect ever of the United States of America.
